This is all well and good, and in the interest of advancing candidates and not the parties they represent I applaud the effort, but in yesterday's mail I received a flier from the Republican Party of Pennsylvania urging me to vote STRAIGHT Republican (an amusing request, since I'm a registered Libertarian), and a few minutes ago I got a phone call from the Pennsylvania Republican Committee asking me to vote for the Republican candidates on my local ballot, along with a favorable vote on the ballot question concerning a huge change in how property taxes are applied. The ballot question aside, it's clear that the state Republican Party and the local branch of same aren't talking to each other.
As an aside, in some states it is not longer an option in a general election to vote a straight party ticket.
I am driving my dad to the polls on Tuesday. He had this postcard in his hand when I went to see him today. I told him that is who he should be voting for. But they're Democrats, he said. I told him that they are good Democrats, and that there are no good Republicans running for school board. ;) He may be their oldest voter! Elaine
I wish the candidates would explain this dichotomy and their position on it before Tuesday. How can the school pursue a green environment while spending millions on plastic grass and used tire crumbs?

If one dumped used tires on a sports field you’d be fined for a number of EPA violations. But if the district rips out natural grass and pours ground up tires on the field it is OK.

I have never voted for straight Republican. I vote for the person who has
the community in mind and lower taxes, especially property taxes. Anonymous.
