It pays to say "shit show" at a school board meeting.

I got a copy of Monday night's personnel report which was approved by the school board. The very first entry on the personnel report lists Capital Campaign Board Member and potty mouth Beth Evans' daughter as being appointed as a permanent substitute English teacher at the high school.

Beth Evans lived across the street from the Cappucci family, and their teacher kids went to school together.

Also on the lengthy report shows the special education teacher at the high school, where her husband is the principal. I wonder if she works under her husband.

Patronage at it's very finest. Soon every one of Cappucci's relatives and her friends' children will be employed by the district. Nothing to see here.

Interesting timing here on the hirings. Going a back a few years you might remember that Superintendent Allison instituted the use of a software system that would set a bar for people getting a job. The software and test was administered by a third party and required prospective teachers to pass the test to become eligible for hiring. This was done because there had been a number of hires that stunk of nepotism at the high school.

I seem to remember not so long ago that the district refused to renew the contract for the software (Pearson I think was the brand).

Anyway, good to know the school board fails to remember the lessons of the past or, maybe they just don't care.

Hi Elaine!
Where are you able to get documents like that personnel report? I can never find stuff like that on their website.
Thanks,
Ken M.

It is not on their website, Ken. You have to file a Right To Know, even though it is public information.
