Are you sitting down? $1,352.81 PER DEER KILLED

Mt. Lebanon has posted the final report for the 2018 "Sharpshooting" Program. FIFTY SEVEN deer were killed for a total cost of $77,110. That comes to $1,352.81 PER DEER. 31 of those deer were killed on private property, costing taxpayers $41,937.11. Are you f-ing kidding me?

Here is the report.

Recommendations for next year:

1. Add Williamsburg Park and Hoodridge Park to discharge high powered rifles.
2. Extend the shooting hours of high powered rifles on private and public property to seven days a week and 3:00 PM to midnight.
3. Non-traditional Trap and shoot in areas such as Morrison Drive and Virginia Manor's Valleyview Drive. (Remember Merlin the Magnificent?)
4. Conduct another deer population estimate*

*The last estimate was done by Tony's buddy (who estimated on the phone, had never stepped foot in Mt. Lebanon, nor knew the size of Mt. Lebanon) to be between 700-900 deer.

Come on Mt. Lebanon residents - WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great news. They should continue the safe and effective work.

Most everything that staff touches turns to crap.

"Safe and effective"? What have you been smoking this AM?

Has there been anything approaching an accident? No. Thus, safe.

Have the number of deer been reduced? Yes. Thus, effective.

If you consider breathing air a type of smoking, I've been smoking air, which has been providing the required oxygen for my brain to properly function and help me make the accurate assessment I've described above.

Generally I find breathing -- or "smoking" as the kids apparently call it -- instrumental to my long track record of good judgement. You should try it!

Con-man DeNicola's continues to mug the taxpayers of Mt. Lebanon with the support of the commissioners. This is his standard con job. He overestimates the deer population to secure his ongoing annual well financed slaughter, and then makes excuses why he couldn't find more deer to kill. He laughs all the way to the bank.

He just pulled the same con job in Ann Arbor Michigan - see today's headlines.

CONTRACTOR SIGNIFICANTLY OVER-ESTIMATED ANN ARBOR'S DEER POPULATION

DeNicola estimated 450 deer in wards 1 and 2, but could only find 115 deer to kill. $370,000.00.

Is anyone on this blog surprised at all? This is exactly what I expected.

All the experts (except Tony who gets paid tons of money to say otherwise) agree that any decrease in deer population as a result of the planned killing will be very temporary. Other deer will soon take their places. It's called compensation and it is scientifically proven.

Of course, the Mt. Lebanon commissioners don't care much about science or fact.

The great thing about science is that it is true whether you believe it or not.
