As an animal advocate this is very UPSETTING and DISTURBING!!! I've been a BIG Conor Lamb supporter. My only question is that maybe Conor doesn't know how the animal advocate community feels about Michalina Pendzich and her efforts to slaughter all the deer in Mt. Lebanon, and who refused humane and non-lethal deer population management offered by the Humane Society of the United States. Very upsetting!!!!!!

One of the problems is that the Mt. Lebanon Democrat Committee has been dominated by wealthy elitists like ex-Commissioner Barbara Logan who is the main architect of the deer slaughter (It's a personal obsession and agenda for her) and her socialite wannabe todies, i.e. ex-Commissioner Kristen Linfante, etc., who wanted her support to run for commissioner. These are not your typical Democrats. The Mt. Lebanon Democrat Committee has been infected and made sick by these characters who don't represent the mainstream Democrat principles or constituents.
Remember Ex-Commissioner Barbara Logan's press quotes from the 2006/2007 time frame. BTW, notice that there are NO mention of car-deer collisions.

On behalf of The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and our 638,000 Pennsylvania members and supporters, I am writing to voice our firm opposition to the proposed plan to allow hunting or deer culling (bait and shoot) as a means of reducing deer related conflicts. Arbitrarily plucking deer out of the environment will not achieve the Township's goals. Instead, this misguided plan is likely to expose the public to increased safety risks and the trauma of seeing wounded deer. There are far better ways to resolve this (and any other) - deer problem.

SHOOTING DEER WON'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM
Although an archery deer kill was called off recently, Mt. Lebanon’s decision to pursue other lethal options is a big mistake. Simply put, killing deer won’t resolve Mt. Lebanon’s deer issues, but it will waste taxpayer dollars and result in an endless cycle of killing.
As long as the community maintains dozens of floral islands that entice deer onto the streets and as long as residents don’t utilize preventative gardening strategies, the problems will continue. Killed deer will be soon replaced by those wandering in from the surrounding deer-rich habitat.
Deer confound efforts to control their numbers in other ways. Where they’re hunted, deer numbers bounce back. When deer have better nutrition, they breed at a younger age and have higher fawn survival. The net result is a population surge after any hunting decline.
The deer-killing methods to be used are understandably controversial: Bow-hunting incurs a high crippling rate, and it’s hard to fire a metal bolt into the brain of a struggling deer with enough precision to ensure a humane death.
The Humane Society of the United States urges the Mt. Lebanon community to show true leadership and invest in an innovative, effective, humane and long-term solution. That is, one that utilizes deer-resistant gardening strategies, state-of-the-art fertility control options and successful collision reduction strategies already in operation elsewhere.

We're kind of getting off track here, but to answer your question, 2:38 PM, I was "lucky enough" to see someone yesterday coming out of Robb Hollow where the leaves are dumped. He was driving a big, black pick up truck coming down the ramp on to Kelso/Robb Hollow. On a Sunday morning. Since it is a "cull," they can kill on Sundays. The back of the truck had plastic covering his kill. So upsetting.

Lucky for Lamb, people outside Mt. Lebanon do not know anything about Michalina or what she looks like on the TV ad. He will lose votes in Mt. Lebanon because of the Michalina feature.

Lamb has to carry Mount Lebanon. It's his greatest strength. Step outside of his hometown. You see more Saccone signs. He needs Mount Lebanon to win. In any District he runs in.

Correct. Lamb is not anti-gun. In fact, one of his first ads show him with an AR-15 and says, "He still likes to shoot."
At the first debate between Lamb and Saccone, just days after the Florida school massacre, both candidates said that they do not support any ban of public access to assault type weapons.
Michalina likes guns, too.
I think Lamb's perhaps subconscious decision to include Mikaline in the ad was to underscore his love of guns.
Lamb is a dud. But so is Saccone. Choice of evils, I guess.

Well, I truly hope that Conor is clueless. You can't expect him to micro-manage everything going on in his campaign or be the director of his commercials. My concern, is that I don't know if he was clueless in this divisive selection or not, and how it affects others who want to support and vote for him. The Mt. Lebanon Democratic Committee needs to throw these old blood thirsty witches who choose animal cruelty over humane solutions to the curb, and move the party forward, or get new party leadership that will.

I don't know Conor, but I'm sure he is not a puppet for his "handlers". He served as a Marine and a federal prosecutor. I think he's his own man, or he wouldn't be running for Congress of the United States.
In addition, in the last debate he called out Saccone for voting against Libre's Law. Libre's Law was a landmark anti-cruelty law passed last summer. Libre's Law had overwhelming bipartisan support. The law was named after an extremely neglected and abused puppy named Libre. The law calls for increased penalties for animal abuse in Pa. He called out Saccone's vote against this bill as a matter of basic decency and character. Saccone demanded to respond to this claim, and when given the opportunity, he did a typical politician change the subject and responded to something else dance. He never responded.
So I do believe that a candidate's position on issues like animal cruelty goes directly to the character and decency of the candidate. I know that I won't vote for a candidate that votes against an animal cruelty bill like Libre's Law. So to blow off an issue of animal cruelty whether it's a dog or a deer, i.e. suffering is suffering, like you did in your comment just seems stupid to me at least, because for me it's a judge of the candidate's character and decency.
The fate of 90,000 wild horses and burros are at stake as I type. If the majority of the current legislators in congress vote to strip away the long established protection for wild horses and burros, then we will see a horrific slaughter of over 90,000 wild horses and burros, which will go down in history as a major inhumane debacle on this congress and administration. And we just witnessed the turn around on Trump's commitment to stop the trophy hunting of Elephants in Africa. So my point is that the decency and character of candidates we vote for congress will be the decision makers on major issues of cruelty vs. decency and humanity. So for me, this is a critical issue that I will be evaluating between Lamb and Saccone. I have no doubt how Saccone will vote on these issues, but I'm just not sure how Conor Lamb will, and so his views on animal cruelty to dogs, deer, horses, burros, elephants and lions is critically important to me.

Those who are ripping Saccone for his position on Libre's Law do not have your facts straight. If you bothered to fully inform yourselves you would know that the bill (have you even read it?) was so broad that it left many unanswered questions for our agricultural industry - PA's most important industry. The one link you posted goes to an overview of Libre's Law HB 1238, which was sponsored by Todd Stephens (R). And the other link goes to a bill by Rep Frank Dermodes reg aggravated assault on public utility employees.
Libre's Law was passed unanimously by the state senate and overwhelmingly by the state congress. Rep. Saccone was one of very few state reps who voted against it.
When Saccone was given an opportunity in the second debate to explain why he voted against this landmark bipartisan anti-cruelty bill, he didn't respond, but danced around, and changed the subject. That's the fact - Jack! :)
"Republican-aligned groups have greatly outspent Democrats in the race. According to the Washington Post, as of February 27, Saccone-allied groups had spent a total of $9.1 million on the race, between the Congressional Leadership Fund, the National Republican Congressional Committee, and others. Conor's average donation is ~33. You can't honestly tell me you think LAMB is the one getting big checks from the outside. I got a letter in the mail thanking Lamb for protecting our second amendment rights. Turns out, it came from the Congressional Leadership Fund, Paul Ryan's PAC, and was sent to more liberal areas to drive down liberal turnout — yet it looked like it came deceptively from the Lamb campaign. You want to talk about a Pelosi Puppet? Why is Ryan trying so hard to get Saccone with this garbage advertising?

I am not sure about the timing of the swearing-in. It should be immediately, after all votes are counted. If the race is extremely close it could take a couple days. If Conor wins, he can run up to Blaise for a quick oath. I don't know who would swear-in Saccone. That's the way it should work. In reality, each of the candidates is probably planning some grand pageant for the swearing-in.
Even though I believe Mr. Lamb is not ready for "prime-time" with all recent the Trump troubles, the very bad disturbing Saccone attack ads and of course the march of the grannies I think he is going to be on top of this race...
Conor’s campaign hired outside the district professional door knockers. He is paying them and there have been hundreds of them canvassing the district for about five weeks. Those paid canvassers are the reason Conor has been polling better. Truly I think that Conor would like the blue haired ladies to stay home and let the pros do their jobs. I don’t blame him. Mikalina is not going to move anyone toward the polls.

Go outside the bubble and you see a different picture. Don't forget, to avoid criticism or lectures, there are many Republicans who are afraid to admit to being R's, thanks to the media.
