Library Fundraiser on Saturday

For you beer drinkers out there, and it seems that there are many of you, please support Mt. Lebanon Public Library's Beer Garden Bash this Saturday, August 24, 2013.

Here is the latest LeboALERT:
Sat Aug 24 Don't miss the library's Beer Garden Bash! Get your ticket today for this library benefit. $30 all-inclusive. Adults only. 412-531-1912
Nothing is on the Lebomag.com website promoting it, but that doesn't surprise me. Oops, that is another story.

Not being a beer drinker, I support the Library through donations and the Garden Tour. Please help in whatever way you can.

Save room for Brew Fest, coming September 21, 2013 from 4-7 PM to be held at the Academy Parking Lot. Giant Eagle will be the major sponsor for this year.

Mt. Lebanon used to have no bars. Now we raise funds selling beer to support municipal activities.

Since the temperance league has such strong representation in Mt Lebanon, maybe they can have a fundraiser for the Library as well.

That's right kids....beerfest....right here in Yinzerville.

Any wonder there is a drug and alcohol problem at the high school? They learned by watching mom and dad...ok...they learned by watching you! (Poor reference to a 1970s public service announcement.)

But seriously I am shocked by the amount of public drinking by the adults. It was not this way in the suburb of Chicago I used to live in.

10:23 I missed last week's Temperance League meeting. Can you pass along the minutes? When is separate fundraiser for the library being held?

12:00 pm did you not read the copy ofthe LeboAlert posted above?

It reads: "Sat Aug. 24 Don't miss the library's Beer Garden Bash! Get your ticket today for this library benefit...." Am I misreading the alert? Did the PIO get the alert wrong? Sure sounds like a library fundraiser to me?
I didn't attend the Temperance League meeting, snicker, snicker, but I can read and the alert says "library benefit."

The commission spent all Franklin's turf money and more on a swimming pool. Now we sell beer to support the library and can't finish the veterans' memorial.
Oh Well! Mt. Lebanon used to be a good place to raise children. Too bad we have slipped so badly. I've enjoyed my time here but now is the time to sell real estate to beer drinkers.
