Dear Students and Families,
Mt. Lebanon High School is currently hiring a high school social studies teacher and we are looking for student volunteers to participate in the interview process.  The interviews will be held on Thursday, July 13 from 12 pm - 4 pm.   Any student that volunteers to participate in the demonstration lessons will receive in-school community service hours.
Please email Mr. Thompson (jthompson@mtlsd.net) if you are interested in attending the lessons.
Student volunteers should report to the high school on Thursday, July 13 around 11:45 am and should enter the building at the B-9 entrance.
If you previously contacted Mr. Thompson to express your interest you do not need to respond to this email again.
Thank you and we hope you are having a relaxing and enjoyable summer.
Mr. Thompson

I like the idea of including students so authentically in the interview process.

This is an interesting approach to hiring teachers.
Is this a MTLSD idea or has it been used elsewhere?

It would be interesting to read the students' evaluations/comments to see what they look for or wish for in a teacher.
(They wouldn't need to identify candidates or students.)

Student panels were also used in the hiring decision of AC, right?

Curious, what job posting is this in response to? I periodically check and don't recall seeing a posting (may be just timing). Is this the one for the teacher/coach who is going to USC?
