Stay hungry. Stay foolish.

Now there is a commencement address to students!

All you need for a great education is a burning desire "to know" and a method by which "to find out." This trumps pedagogy, buildings, and all the degrees you can name. RIP.

High School PSSA Scores increase again! 10:45 AM

Mt. Lebanon High School PSSA Scores are up in every category: Mathematics, Reading, Science, and Writing"

Gee, scores are up in an old "obsolete" building, some of which dates back to the 1920s, and incidentally will continue to be the cornerstone of the districts "21st century" learning environment.

Imagine what the district could've achieved with the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on lawsuits, mailers, bad plans and other nonsense and focused entirely on educating!
Steve Jobs (a college dropout) and his buddy Woz changed the world starting in an old garage.

Jobs on designing something: “Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it’s really how it works. The design of the Mac wasn’t what it looked like, although that was part of it. Primarily, it was how it worked. To design something really well, you have to get it. You have to really grok what it’s all about. It takes a passionate commitment to really thoroughly understand something, chew it up, not just quickly swallow it. Most people don’t take the time to do that."

Wonder if the board really looked at how the building design will work? Do they grok what its all about?
