2012 Ballot and more

With Election Day a week away, I wanted to share some voters' information for Lebo Citizen readers in Mt. Lebanon.

First of all, here is our ballot.  It's on the Allegheny County Board of Elections site: http://apps.county.allegheny.pa.us/VoteDistricts/Lookup.aspx By clicking on the link, you can also verify your registration.

Second, the polling place located in the Mt. Lebanon High School Fine Arts Theatre lobby has been moved due to construction at the high school. Voters will need to go to The First Church of Christ, Scientist located at 1100 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon 15228 to vote on November 6, 2012. The polling place will be located in the Social Hall.

I'm voting for Matt Smith who is running unopposed in the General Assembly and voting for Raja in the Senate

Dear Matt and Raja,

Taxing employer-paid health insurance will mean a much fairer tax system: the millions of citizens, such as the self-employed, who buy their own insurance will no longer be penalized by higher taxes relative to neighbors who enjoy employer-paid coverage.

Matt Smith is running against Raja for the State Senate seat...not sure what your 7:44 anon writer is talikng about?

Matt Smith saw an opportunity to run for two seats, his current one in the state legislature and now for state senate. If he wins the senatorial seat, it will cost the taxpayers $250,000 to hold a special election for his current seat.

Ah yes, an opportunist spending your money to satisfy his political aspirations - just what we need! Think before you vote.

I saw that too. I don't care how many mailers Raja sends out, I am still voting for Matt Smith.

1045--so it's all about being "fair", huh? Give me a break. Keep your quasi-socialist drivel to yourself. If yo'ure self-employed, you choose to be. So don't complain about costs associated with it.

I'm voting for "none of the above". Still waiting to hear Smith chime in on anything of importance.

10:14 AM, our comments crossed in cyberspace.
Care to guess how much Raja has spent to satisfy his political aspirations? I hear it is around $4.5 million! Sending all those mailers, airing countless TV spots, and phone calls costs big bucks!

10:14 here.

The difference is that Raja spends HIS OWN MONEY, Matt Smith is spending yours. You must be a sucker for a pretty face. Think!

Not sure if that is entirely true, 10:14 AM.
I am not voting for Raja because of his stormwater fee, the reviews from his former employees, the mess he created with the MLRC, the ML Parking Authority, and Washington Park. He took the stipend as commissioner of Ward 1, so I guess he needed the money.

Sorry, 10:14 AM, but I will not be publishing your latest comment. If you want to promote Raja, start your own blog. I have stated just some of my reasons for not voting for him.
Voters will decide for themselves if they choose to vote for Raja or Matt Smith, or none of the above.

Franci,

Look at the ballot and find out Matt Smith is running for a Senate and House seat at the same time. He is running unopposed in the House. If you are going to stay involved in politics, Franci, you need to follow what is going on to follow 7:44's comment.
