The Goddard School is now open

The Goddard School on Painters Run is now open. Enrollment is open to all ages, from infants to school age. Weather permitting, children play outside every day, enjoy nature walks, and picnics. Just across the street, they can watch deer being killed. There is a yellow warning sign posted across the street from Crust. The distance from Public Works to The Goddard School is well below the 1,000' limitation.

Measuring the distance of Robb Hollow Park, I drew a line as close to 1,000' as I could from The Goddard School.

Mt. Lebanon removed Bird Park from the archery program because of its proximity to Markham School. Are they going to be consistent and remove Public Works and most of Robb Hollow Park as well? It might be a good question to ask at the commission meeting on Monday.

I wonder if the nature walks take place in Robb Hollow Park when the archers are shooting their arrows. Was a notice sent to this school regarding hunting across the street from them?

I'm familiar with the Peters Township version of this school and they take safety very, very seriously. I believe this site is owned by the same couple.

I wish them well, but for the life of me I can't understand why the new Goddard School was sited between Painter's Run Road and Painter's Run. The school is below road grade and, if I remember correctly, in a floodplain. I drive by the school regularly, and the traffic down there can be a real bear!

Did they take Bird Park out of the archery program because of students or goats? Seriously, I thought it was because of the goats.

ELAINE! My kids go there - I had no idea that the cull was so close. I'll ask the owners if they are aware. Why are you the only reliable source of information for this stuff?! Thank you for letting us know.

7:25 PM-Let us know what the owners say. I'd be interested in hearing their reaction.

At last night's commission meeting, Nick M. asked the commission if The Goddard School was ever notified of the archery program. See the 00:29:00 time stamp here on the commission meeting video.
Keith McGill said that he spoke with Lori Santo yesterday and that "she seems to be satisfied with my [Keith's] response."
